How He Loves Us

God truly is amazing...He truly loves us more than we can imagine! When I think about what Jesus gave...about what he went through..about the anguish in the garden...about the suffering...about the shame...about the beatings and ultimately the point of our Salvation...the Cross...WOW...how HE loves US! We are currently going through a series at VL titled " How Good is Good Enough". Over the past weeks we have been discussing the point of God being Fair and Just. Is it fair and just that Good People don't go to heaven? Is God fair? Is God just? What do you think? Ultimately He is...was it fair and just that God had to give his only begotten son...to leave the Majesty of the throne of heaven...to take on human form and then to die on a cross? Yes...because something had to happen...something had to be given...something had to take our place...something had to be paid in order to redeem us of our sins. The point is...all of us fall short of the glory of God...none of us are good enough! However, because of Jesus and if we choose to believe and receive this free gift we can have eternal life! That is the Awesome and Great Love of our GOD! He gave his only son....O how HE loves US!

Date night with the Girls...

Well this week I had the Awesome privilege to take both of my daughters on a date individually...where they got to choose the place we eat and what we did next. I just hoped that it wasn't Chick-fil-a...don't get me wrong I love Chick-fil-a but my girls would eat there every night if we let them. Let me just first say that it amazes me how different 2 little girls can be! So Tuesday night was Mckenna's night and if you do not know Mckenna she is the shy one at least if she doesn't know you. She decided she wanted to go to Fudrucker's so that is where we went and let me just say it was AWESOME! I have not had a burger in a long time and it was Great! We then went to Toys R' Us so she could spend some of her Birthday money and then to the mall to go shopping..big surprise...both of my girls love to shop..I mean all my girls love to shop (Melissa)! Mckenna was allowed to pick out an outfit and let me just say she is a "DIVA" to see her model in front of the mirror cracks me up! Her comment was "I look Good, I mean really Good" she is just like her momma..I'm kidding but seriously. We definitely had a blast and it was Awesome hanging out!
So Wednesday night was Macauly's night and if you don't know Macauly she is the free-spirited, does not meet a stranger type. Same routine, she got to pick the place to eat and what we did next. Macauly picked Zaxby's...she loves that place and I must admit I like it too. Although, while I was making my way back to the table with our food...Macauly had her tongue attached to the back-rest of the booth and proceeded to lick the entire booth...YEP you heard me she said it was "Dirty"...sure because that's what we do when booths are dirty we LICK IT with our TONGUE...I mean are you kidding me! Truly a Macauly moment...I couldn't help but laugh! We then proceeded to the mall where Macauly picked out an outfit and then to Target where she spent some money she had saved and then home. We had a BLAST!
It is true that no 2 are a-like. I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with my girls for some one on one time. They truly are a blessing to Melissa and I and bring joy and laughter to our lives! I often hear people say "Cherish that time when their young because you won't get it back" and it is true. They truly are God's little blessing's...what a privilege to be a part of their lives! Mommy's date night is next...I love you girls!

Knowing God

There is a question that challenges me daily and here it is....Christians know a lot about God but do they truly know God?  Wow!!  What a powerful question and at the same time humbling!  To truly know this God that we have the Honor and Privilege to Serve.  It's true that God works in mysterious ways....in ways that we cannot fathom or comprehend.  It seems the only time we truly call on him is when we are in need and then question why he has not answered or why he allowed it in the first place.  But to truly know him is to know that HE is THERE, that he loves us and that everything that happens in life has to pass through his hands first.  His promise that he would never leave us nor forsake us should be our stronghold!  There is a book I read back in July called "The Shack"...I read this book in 2 days while on vacation with my family....which is not normal for me to read a book that quickly but I could not put it down!  This book ROCKED my world!!  I feel like I have a better understanding and a deeper love of God after I finished reading "The Shack". This is a must read!  I would encourage anyone to go and pick this book up!  I don't know where you are on your Journey with Christ because we are all in different places.  However, regardless of where you are God desires YOU! He truly desires your LOVE and COMPANIONSHIP!  To understand his heart is not to wonder and worry but to truly KNOW He is THERE!
